Jazoo for jazz, but not just jazz; zoo for a collection of lovable animals... JAZOO PROJECT was dreamt up in 2004 as an open and modular ensemble, ranging from a trio to a sextet (or even up to ten or twelve musicians), the golden rule being « interaction and sharing». The pleasure of working together is as important as the music produced and the « big picture » shouldn't obscure delight in the detail. As for the melody and the energy, they coexist harmoniously
joy and depth.
The sextet is made up of young French musicians most of whom come from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris ( CNSMDP ), where Riccardo Del Fra is head of the Department of Jazz and Improvised music.

Flouradenn (which means caresses in Breton) was the brainchild of jazzman Riccardo Del Fra and the Breton singer Annie Ebrel. The project represented a union between jazz and traditional song, bringing together elegance, grace and poetic emotion while creating a real dialogue between cultures. « With Annie, I rediscovered a style of singing that is primordial - extremely powerful, yet at the same time naïve, with which I can communicate with gestures that seem simple, but in fact require a great deal of restraint and which involve complex and sophisticated rhythms and harmonies

After their first album in duo, Voulouz Loar, (Diapason d'or in 1999, Choc du Monde de la Musique), Riccardo and Annie decided to continue their adventure in a more orchestral setting by including prestigious guests such as Paolo Fresu, Laurent Dehors, Kuljit Bhamra, Jean-Luc Landsweerdt, to give birth to the Flouradenn show (created at the Quartz de Brest and at the Théâtre de la Ville de Paris in 2001). The show led to the formation of a group - the extension of the duo into a sextet. The regular members are :
- Annie Ebrel, vocals & words
- Riccardo Del Fra, double bass, composition & arrangement
- Laurent Dehors, clarinet
- Paolo Fresu, trumpet & flugelhorn
- Kuljit Bhamra, tabla
- Jean-Luc Landsweerdt, percussion.
